The Ministry of Education revealed over 20 thousand pseudo-students: who found themselves outside the universities.

Quality of education check: 23,448 students aged 30+ expelled from universities
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the State Service for Quality of Education, checked the higher education system. As a result of this check, 23,448 men over the age of 30 were expelled from Ukrainian universities from April to August 2024.
According to Deputy Minister Mykhailo Vinnytskyi, the State Service for Quality of Education of Ukraine conducted a comprehensive audit, resulting in the exclusion of 5,805 students from educational institutions. The remaining students were expelled based on the results of internal quality assurance systems at the universities.
'Obviously, the expelled are those 'students' who actually did not plan to be students, but wanted to use this status to evade other obligations,' said Mykhailo Vinnytskyi.
The Ministry of Education has also taken a number of fundamental measures. Following the submission of the State Service for Quality of Education, the National Police of Ukraine initiated criminal proceedings against officials of higher educational institutions. Additionally, the licenses of several educational institutions in various regions of Ukraine have been revoked - from Zaporizhzhia to Uzhhorod, from Mykolaiv to Lviv.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education emphasize that the main goal of these measures is to stop mass abuses in the higher education system, particularly the admission of men of conscription age for bribes. They stress that every Ukrainian has the right to receive higher education on a competitive basis, and the fight against corruption and a formal attitude towards education is a priority of state educational policy.
