Mexican sculptor Chavis Marmol expressed his protest against the Tesla brand and its founder Elon Musk by crushing a Tesla Model 3 car with a nine-ton stone sculpture. He voiced his displeasure regarding Musk's plans to build a new factory in Mexico. This was reported by 'Glavcom'.

The sculpture created by Marmol was the result of two years of work. The artist received the Tesla car as a gift from the Colima 71 hotel in Mexico City, although he has never used a car himself and always rides a bicycle.

The sculpture is made of rubble stone and was crafted over six months by a group of artists from across the country. It is a replica of the ancient Olmec heads - archaeological remnants of a civilization that existed about 3,000 years ago along the Gulf of Mexico. For Mexicans, these heads symbolize the oldest culture in America.

This sculpture is part of a series of works titled Neo-Tameme created by Marmol. The artist stated that his goal was not just to crush a car, but to 'destroy an object that represents a sinister figure such as Elon Musk'.

Despite the existence of more expensive cars, Marmol explained that his aim was a symbolic act of protest.

The sculptor's work is a response to Musk's decision to build a new Tesla factory in Mexico. In December 2023, the Mexican Ministry of Environment issued a permit for the construction of the factory in Nuevo León state.

Although Marmol has not yet received any response from Tesla or Musk regarding his work, he expressed doubt that it would upset the company.

Even the lead singer of the band Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, expressed his dissatisfaction with Elon Musk during a concert in Melbourne, asking the audience if they would like Musk and Donald Trump to get a slap in the face. This news was published on the 'Glavcom' website.

Armstrong's performance received support from the audience, who reacted with applause to his words about Musk and Trump.

During the performance of the song 'Jesus of Suburbia', Armstrong changed a few lines, adding a mention of Ukraine and sarcastic comments about U.S. Vice President JD Vance.
