Ukraine conducted a large prisoner exchange. Among those released were the defenders of Mariupol and military personnel who participated in the Kursk operation.
As a result of the exchange, 175 soldiers were freed, and another 22 individuals were released through special measures. Three of those released were under investigation.
Among the veterans of defense were 149 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 4 from the Territorial Defense, as well as 11 representatives of the Navy, 8 National Guardsmen, including 3 'Azov' fighters, and 3 border guards.
These fighters participated in combat actions in many areas, including Mariupol - 31, Donetsk - 74, Luhansk region - 39, Kharkiv region - 8, Kherson region - 5, as well as in Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions, who participated in the Kursk operation.
U.S. President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with the President of Ukraine. He called it 'very good.'
The phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky lasted an hour, and Trump stated that it was a result of his talks with Putin. They discussed the needs and requests of Russia and Ukraine.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine and the U.S. must continue to work together to achieve a real cessation of hostilities and establish peace. He also shared details of his conversation with Putin.
The Turkish authorities detained opposition mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu, his press secretary, and around 100 municipal employees as part of an anti-corruption investigation. Imamoglu faces allegations of corruption in tenders and links with the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
Imamoglu himself stated that he would continue the fight for rights and freedoms. A temporary ban on demonstrations and rallies has been imposed in the city, with some metro stations and highways closed. Protests continue, with injuries reported.
The U.S. will continue to share intelligence with Ukraine
The White House spokesperson stated that intelligence sharing between the U.S. and Ukraine will continue.
Zelensky emphasized that halting this exchange poses a threat to Ukraine's security. Without this data, the Ukrainian army will be unable to track Russian ballistic capabilities, complicating defense and endangering civilian populations.
The Serbian Parliament has dismissed the government
In the wake of student protests triggered by the roof collapse at the Novi Sad train station, the Serbian Parliament accepted the resignation of the government and the Prime Minister.
The protests led to the resignation of the Prime Minister, and the process of forming a new government has begun. If a government is not formed, parliamentary elections will take place.
