China calls for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine
The Chinese delegation at the UN urged Russia and Ukraine to start peace negotiations as soon as possible. According to the Chinese representative at the UN, both sides continue to use force in their quest for victory.
The Chinese representative called on the conflicting parties to demonstrate political will, cease fighting, and achieve a ceasefire. He also urged the participants of the UN Security Council meeting to make greater efforts to organize swift negotiations.
At the same Time, the Chinese representative continued to refer to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as the 'Ukrainian conflict'. According to him, China has always supported respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, as well as peaceful resolution of conflicts in accordance with UN principles.
However, the Chinese representative noted that both sides of the conflict continue to attack each other and do not abandon the policy of winning through force.
