France offers to place its nuclear bombers in Germany.

France proposes to deploy nuclear bombers in Germany
France has proposed to deploy nuclear bombers on German territory in response to the possible withdrawal of U.S. security guarantees for Europe under Donald Trump. This aims to deter Russia, especially considering recent Russian military actions.
Friedrich Merz, the leader of the CDU/CSU and a potential future chancellor of Germany, also supported the need for European 'nuclear independence' from the U.S. and noted that it is necessary to be ready for the possible failure of Trump to fulfill his commitments under the NATO treaty.
France has about 300 nuclear warheads, but it is not part of the overall NATO nuclear deterrent system, unlike the United Kingdom. France views the deployment of nuclear bombers in Germany as a clear signal to Putin, while also seeking to maintain control over its weapons.
Representatives of political forces in Germany are warning of a possible provocation that Moscow may interpret as such. Currently, there are approximately 20 units of American nuclear weapons stationed in Germany.
