FBI Conducted a Raid on the Director of the Betting Company That Predicted Trump's Victory.

Raid at the Apartment of Polymarket's CEO in the U.S. Over Prediction of Trump's Victory
On Wednesday, FBI agents conducted a raid at the apartment of Polymarket's CEO Shane Kaplan in Manhattan. This happened due to the platform’s successful prediction regarding Donald Trump's victory in the elections, reports the New York Post.
According to the publication, federal agents took Kaplan's phone and other electronic devices. However, Kaplan was not arrested and was not charged with any crimes. Later, Bloomberg reported that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Polymarket’s activities because it had access to the site for American users.
This is an obvious political revenge by the administration against Polymarket for providing a market that correctly predicted the 2024 presidential elections. Polymarket is a fully transparent prediction market that helps people better understand the events that matter most to them, including elections.
Polymarket is expected to block American access to its services after a deal with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which was reached in 2022.
A CFTC representative stated that Polymarket must adhere to the terms of the agreement with the commission, notably not accepting orders from Americans. However, Americans can trade on the platform through virtual private networks or VPNs to bypass the ban.
Polymarket Predictions
Amid the vote counting in the U.S. elections, bookmakers predicted that Trump would become the 47th president of the United States. This was noted on the online platform Polymarket. The probability of Trump’s victory was estimated at 71.1%, while Kamala Harris had a 28.9% chance of winning.
It is also worth mentioning that the fortunes of the ten richest people in the world increased by $63.5 billion one day after Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election.
