There is a risk of going bankrupt: in which European country is it openly expensive for tourists.

Finland ranked first in the global ranking of countries where tourists risk exceeding their budget. The main reason is the high prices for food, transport, and accommodation, reports Ilta-Sanomat.

Alcohol is particularly expensive in Finland: prices for alcoholic beverages in the country are 102% higher compared to the average prices in the EU. For example, a pint of beer (500 ml) costs 7 euros. Many tourists do not understand the financial situation in the country and spend less than necessary.

A study conducted in the United Kingdom showed that British tourists visit Finland for the northern lights and ski resorts but spend about 178 euros per day there, although they planned to spend no more than 124 euros. Over a week, this results in a budget overrun of 379 euros.

Besides Finland, the top three countries expensive for tourists include Mexico (average budget of 127 euros a day vs planned 80 euros) and Egypt (expenses exceed 68 euros a day with a budget of 25 euros).

The study was commissioned by the British company Good Travel Manage.

On Sunday, November 3, it was announced that the Vladimir Lenin Museum in the Finnish city of Tampere would close. This museum was founded in 1946 by the Finland-USSR Society and was the site of the first meeting between Lenin and Joseph Stalin in 1905.
