Some drivers are banned from driving: at what age one cannot drive.

Drivers have been prohibited from driving at a certain age.
In today's world, road safety is becoming increasingly important. Special attention is paid to drivers' ability to assess the road situation and respond quickly. As people age, their reaction speeds, visual acuity, and other indicators crucial for driving may decline. Therefore, many countries are discussing and implementing age restrictions for drivers.
In Europe, there is a high percentage of elderly drivers, which is a cause for concern. With age, reaction speed and concentration ability decrease.
For example, general practitioner Ingrid Denshel expressed the opinion that concerns about elderly drivers are justified...
Local road safety council member Siegfried Brockmann also supports the idea of age restrictions.
However, psychologist Katya Shlaynits emphasizes that drivers over 75 years old may have their experience as an advantage. She also points out the importance of monitoring one's health. If a driver notices signs of cognitive impairment, it is better for them to refrain from driving.
In Ukraine, there are also age restrictions for driving various types of vehicles. For example, individuals who are 16 years old can drive motorcycles, and from 18 years old - cars or motorcycles.
The European Union is developing new rules for elderly drivers to ensure that they can drive safely. Ukrainian lawmakers are considering implementing similar requirements.
A final decision on this matter has not yet been made, as there is no consensus among the members of the Verkhovna Rada regarding restrictions.
