Will we have light? 'Ukrenergo' announced the worst-case scenario for winter.

In 'Ukrenergo', they are preparing for the most challenging scenario of the winter of 2024-2025, which envisions continued massive attacks on the energy infrastructure. This was stated by the acting head of 'Ukrenergo', Oleksiy Brekht. He reported that in the spring, Russia caused a significant loss - 9 GW of generating capacity, which needs to be restored.
One of the worst-case scenarios is continued attacks on energy facilities. In the event of such a scenario, with the current volume of electricity imports, power capacity restrictions may arise on cold days lasting up to 8 hours.
The government, regional military administrations, and community authorities are working on preparing the infrastructure, accumulating resources, and creating decentralized generation to ensure light and heat in all homes during the winter. The government claims that by the end of October and in November, there will be no problems with power supply. They also hope that this winter will pass almost without outages, just like last year.
On October 9, NNEGC 'Energoatom' brought another nuclear power plant unit out of repair, so all nine power units operating in Ukraine are ready for the autumn-winter period. It should be noted that Ukraine's energy system is entering the winter season with the highest level of readiness, as the planned repairs were completed on Time.
In addition, the European Commission and G7 countries have raised over $4 billion to restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure to increase electricity supply volume.
