World Powerlifting Championship: Ukraine won five medals in the total competition.


The Ukrainian powerlifting team won 5 medals at the World Championship
The Ukrainian powerlifting team demonstrated its skill at the World Championship in Reykjanesbær, Iceland. In just one day of competition, our athletes won 5 medals and earned 5 licenses for the World Games 2025. This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
Lyudmyla Soloviyova became the world champion in powerlifting for the third Time. In the weight category up to 63 kg, she won with a total of 610 kg and earned a license for the World Games 2025.
Our athlete Mykola Barannik also showed impressive results. He won his fourth world champion title in powerlifting in the weight category up to 83 kg. The total of his competition was 932.5 kg. For this achievement, Mykola received a license for the World Games 2025.
Among the winners were also Vitaliy Kolomiiets, Volodymyr Rysev, and Kostyantyn Musienko. All of them received medals and licenses for the World Games 2025 in their weight categories.
Volodymyr Rysev became the world champion in powerlifting in the weight category up to 93 kg. His total competition score was 1040 kg, which is a world record among veterans of the first age group. Volodymyr also received a license for the World Games 2025.
The Ukrainian team has already confirmed its strong position on the world powerlifting stage. And we hope that our athletes will continue to win and delight us with their achievements.
