Americans are dissatisfied with Trump's handling of the economy
According to a new poll, most Americans do not believe in President Trump's management of the economy. This has occurred due to the escalation of the trade war and changes in import and export regulations.
According to CBS News polling data, 52% of Americans are dissatisfied with Trump's economic policy, while 49% support him. The majority, or 56%, also disagree with his approach to combating inflation, while 44% believe he is doing everything correctly.
Many respondents noted that Trump is focusing on the wrong issues. 55% claim that the president is paying too much attention to tariffs, while 38% believe he is focusing on them adequately. Only 7% think he is not paying enough attention to tariffs.
The poll was conducted after Trump announced the imposition of tariffs on foreign cars and auto parts. The president announced a 25% tariff on the import of foreign vehicles.
Many Americans wanted to see Trump focus on lowering prices. 64% of respondents believe he pays too little attention to this issue. 31% think his attention to price reduction is adequate, while only 5% believe he is too focused on it.
Many Americans blame former President Obama for inflation. 38% believe Obama's policies are responsible for the current inflation, while 34% blame Trump. 19% assert that both administrations bear equal responsibility, while 9% do not blame either administration.
Despite criticism of Trump's economic policy, many people praise his handling of immigration policy. 56% of respondents support his decisions on this issue, while 44% are dissatisfied.
