Putin's Ambitions: Starmer Explains Why Ukraine Needs Security Guarantees.

Starmer Calls on Allies to Increase Pressure on Russia and Provide Ukraine with Security Guarantees
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called on allies to adopt a more resolute stance against Russia and guarantee Ukraine's security to protect it from 'barely disguised' ambitions of Vladimir Putin, the dictator of Russia. This was reported by The Guardian.
Yuri Ushakov, a Putin aide, previously stated that Russia does not agree to a temporary ceasefire in the conflict it initiated with Ukraine.
In response, Starmer noted that he is not surprised by Russia's attitude. He urged allies to step up pressure on Moscow and provide Ukraine with security guarantees to defend it against Putin's ambitions.
'I am not really surprised that Russia takes such a position. They have made this quite clear. They have repeatedly made this clear,' he said.
Starmer also reported on the progress made on Tuesday, March 11. He hoped that the overall initiative would shift towards Russia and Moscow would begin to feel the pressure. Now this has happened, which is a good sign, as Russia is the aggressor.
Starmer emphasized that Putin has ambitions that are cleverly masked.
Regarding next steps, he noted that it is important to cooperate with allies, work with the United States, and work with Ukraine.
Starmer will organize a meeting on Saturday, March 15, where he will gather leaders to discuss the possibility of further progress towards achieving a peaceful and secure life with the sovereignty and security of Ukraine.
He added that any agreement must be protected by security guarantees, as Russia has already violated previous agreements.
Separately, Starmer noted the Kremlin's disagreement with proposals for additional security guarantees for Ukraine.
'The Kremlin's reaction confirms my firm belief that if an agreement is not protected by security guarantees, it will be violated by Russia,' he added.
Starmer also expressed his opinion on the negotiations between Ukraine and the USA in Jeddah.
