Farmers of Odesa region have sown almost half of the area under winter grains for the 2025 harvest.

Farmers in Odesa have sown only 43.4% of the planned area of winter cereals. The overall plan for 2025 envisages the sowing of 760 thousand hectares of winter crops. This was reported by the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
As of now, 290 thousand hectares of winter wheat have been sown, which is 51.8% of the plan, and 40 thousand hectares of winter barley, which accounts for 20% of the planned area. In addition, farmers have sown 150 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed, which significantly exceeds the planning - by 150%.
Overall, the plan for sowing winter cereals for 2025 includes:
- 560 thousand hectares for winter wheat,
- 200 thousand hectares for winter barley,
- 100 thousand hectares for winter rapeseed.
Such sowing is planned to strengthen food security not only for the region but for the entire country, according to the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
Let us recall that since the land market was opened to business for almost three months, companies have sold at least 1283 hectares, according to the State Land Cadastre (SLCC). 12 companies have lost ownership of land less than 100 hectares due to sales and are no longer part of the land monitoring system. Currently, the State Land Cadastre is monitoring 271 Ukrainian companies that own plots of more than 100 hectares.
