Ukrainian athlete Anna Maksymenko won the 'gold' at the fencing Grand Prix in Budapest, according to 'Glavkom'.

In the second round of the Grand Prix, Anna defeated Frenchwoman Lydiana Gersan (15:12), then overcame Kenyan Oleksandra Ndolo, and in the Round of 16, she defeated German Kaglu Aytekin (15:10).

In the quarter-finals, Maksymenko defeated Russian Aizhanat Murtazaeva with a score of 15:10. In the semi-finals, the 17-year-old Ukrainian defeated 30-year-old Canadian Leonora MacKinnon with a score of 15:9.

In the final, Maksymenko faced Italian representative, Olympic champion of Paris 2024 in team events, Giulia Rizzi.

The match between the rivals was even, but on priority, Anna hit the opponent on the counterattack and won the 'gold' with a score of 12:11.

Maksymenko’s medal is the first 'gold' for Ukrainian fencers at the Grand Prix since 2020, when Olga Kharlan won.

This is also Anna's first individual medal in her career at the fencing Grand Prix.

The Ukrainian women's national football team (WU-17) celebrated their victory in the decisive match of League A with the hit song by Stepan Higa 'This Dream'.

On March 14, the Ukrainian national team (WU-17) finished their performance in the second qualifying round of Euro 2025 in League A with a match against Iceland in Spanish Cartagena.

In previous matches, our team lost to Spain (1:2) and Belgium (0:2). To remain in League A, the Ukrainians needed to defeat Iceland.

The Icelanders took the lead in the 24th minute, but the Ukrainians had a chance to equalize before the break. In the second half, our team managed to defeat the opponents thanks to goals by Lespukh and Kolodiy, and did not allow the opponents to exploit their chances.

As a result, the Blue and Yellow secured a victory with a score of 2:1 and took third place in the League A group.
