15 million hryvnias: Shmyhal announced a bill to support families of civilians killed during the war.

The Ukrainian government proposes to establish at the legislative level a payment of 15 million hryvnias to the families of civilians who died while defending the state from Russian aggression.
This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting. According to him, the bill provides for a fair approach to determining compensations for the families of fallen defenders.
Shmyhal reminded that at the beginning of the full-scale war, many Ukrainians took up arms and defended the country as civilians. Currently, a payment of 1.9 million hryvnias is provided for such families, which the government proposes to increase to 15 million hryvnias.
A representative of the Cabinet in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reported the details of the bill. In particular, the payment of 15 million hryvnias is assigned to the families of civilians who died from February 24 to March 25, 2022, during defense activities of Ukraine alongside military formations.
In addition, a top-up payment to 15 million hryvnias is envisaged for those who previously received a smaller amount. To receive compensation, the applicant must submit the appropriate application to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
We also remind: what payments and benefits will the relatives of the deceased receive.
