Payments from 450 to 3100 hryvnias: assistance established for certain categories in Ukraine.

The government approved one-Time payments for Independence Day

At the end of April 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 486, which regulates the amounts of one-time cash assistance until August 24 for certain categories of citizens. Although this support is provided annually, the specific amounts are approved each year by a separate government decision.

Details about the conditions for receiving, amounts, and payment mechanisms were revealed by pension expert Serhiy Korobkin.

'This assistance is provided regularly, but its amount is determined each year by a separate decision of the Cabinet of Ministers,'

he noted. According to the laws 'On the Status of War Veterans' and 'On Victims of Nazi Persecution,' the amounts of assistance this year will range from 450 to 3100 hryvnias.

Distribution of payments by categories

Serhiy Korobkin clarified that assistance will be calculated as follows:

• War invalids and former juvenile prisoners of concentration camps:
  • Group I – 3100 UAH
  • Group II – 2900 UAH
  • Group III – 2700 UAH
• Individuals with special merits before Ukraine – 3100 UAH
• Combatants, victims during the Revolution of Dignity, former juvenile prisoners – 1000 UAH
• Family members of deceased veterans or persons with disabilities – 650 UAH
• Participants of the war, victims of Nazi persecution, children of partisans – 450 UAH

How to receive assistance

The mechanism for calculating remains unchanged:

• Pensioners will receive funds automatically together with their pension.
• Working veterans – through their employer or military unit.
• Other categories must submit an application to the Pension Fund by August 1 (or by October 1 in case of delay).

The expert critically assessed the amounts of assistance:

'What do 450 or 650 hryvnias mean today? Is this care or mockery of people?'

In his opinion, the government only formally fulfills the requirements of the law due to the budget deficit, not taking inflation into account.
